Dr Hillary, Dangote, Others Bag Peace Legend Awards for Driving Growth in Africa

In a celebration of excellence, the President of Hillmira Group, Dr. Hillary Akpua, the esteemed business mogul, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and other distinguished individuals and brands were honored at the 14th edition of the Peace Legend Awards International, held recently at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, in Abuja.

The Peace Legend Awards International is dedicated to acknowledging the unsung heroes who have played pivotal roles in the development of Nigeria and the broader African continent.

According to the Founder of the Awards, Jesse Amiri, it aims to celebrate the exceptional achievements of individuals who have distinguished themselves in diverse fields, including Politics, Business, Sciences, Arts, Activism, and Sports.

Amiri emphasized that the tireless efforts of these honorees have been instrumental in driving growth and development in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Addressing the media at the event, Amiri stated, “We researched for those personalities and brands that are putting their efforts to place Nigeria on the global map, and today we are celebrating them on a global scale to let Africans know that they are men and women of substance who have dedicated their energy to making Africa a better place.”

One of the recipients, Founder of the Great Achiever Initiative for Youth and Community Development, Dr. Hillary Akpua while speaking with newsmen remarked, “I have been doing what I know how to do best, contributing to the national development as an entrepreneur, real estate developer, philanthropist, educational consultant among others. To be recognized on a continental level is a profound experience. It is both an honor and a challenge; being acknowledged at this level compels one to deliver even greater value.”

Dr Akpua added that, “I am honored to receive this award, as it signifies that the small efforts we put forth to improve the world are being recognized. It makes one feel appreciated and seen.”

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the President on Disability Matters, Mohamed Isa, who is also a honouree, expressed gratitude to the organizers for recognizing his contributions to the plight of persons with disabilities.

“Since I came on board, I have endeavored to impact the lives of people with disabilities. It is these everyday contributions that have culminated in this award. I feel honored, and it will encourage me to do more in fulfilling the mandate entrusted to me by God and the President,” Isa stated.

Reflecting on the nomination process, one awardee expressed surprise, stating, “I really don’t know who nominated me. I met the organizer for the first time today, and it makes me wonder—whatever we are doing, someone somewhere is watching.”

Speaking further on the award, the Founder, Amiri, noted that the selection process was transparent, rigorous, and thorough, ensuring that only the most deserving individuals were honored.

Amiri remarked, “Africa is the source of life, a continent rich in diversity, culture, people, and natural resources. It has contributed blood, sweat, and resources for the development of the world. As the cradle of civilization, it supplies the rest of the world with its vast natural resources needed for industrialization.”

He added that Africa is home to great minds—leaders, entrepreneurs, entertainers, activists, and visionaries—who have shaped history and continue to influence the future.

He pointed out that the continent’s struggles for independence, technological innovations, and economic transformations are testaments to the remarkable individuals who have left indelible marks on Africa.
