Hon. Akpososo Oghenekaro Wishes Deltans, Nigerians Happy Democracy Day
JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

As Nigeria celebrates Democracy Day, Hon. Akpososo Oghenekaro has extended his warm felicitations to the good people of Delta State and Nigerians at large.
In a message on Thursday, Oghenekaro noted that this year’s celebration marks a significant milestone in the country’s democratic journey, and acknowledged the progress made so far.
However, he stated that despite the progress, Nigeria still faces numerous challenges that hinder its growth and development.
“We know that we are not yet where we are supposed to be as a nation,” Hon. Oghenekaro said. “There are still many issues that need to be addressed, and many challenges that need to be overcome.”
Despite these challenges, Oghenekaro also known as Mimikay remains optimistic about the future of Nigeria, believing that with commitment, dedication, and collective effort, the country can overcome its challenges and achieve its full potential. “With commitment and dedication, we shall surely get there,” he emphasized.
“As we celebrate Democracy Day, let us reflect on the struggles of our forebears who fought tirelessly for our democratic dispensation. Let us remain vigilant and committed to the democratic ideals that have brought us to this point. I urge all Nigerians to continue demanding good governance, accountability, and transparency from our leaders. Together, we can build a brighter future for our great nation. We may not be where we want to be yet, but with commitment and dedication, we shall surely get there,” he said.
Oghenekaro also urged Nigerians not to abandon the struggles that led to the country’s return to democracy on June 12, 1998.
He emphasized the importance of continued vigilance and active participation in the democratic process to ensure that the dividends of democracy are equitably distributed among all citizens.
