APC Applauds Oborevwori’s Infrastructural Strides, Leadership in Delta
JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for what it described as his purposeful leadership and delivery of critical infrastructure across the state.
In a statement signed on Tuesday by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Felix Morka, the party expressed delight at the governor’s development initiatives, citing the recent ground-breaking ceremony of the Uromi-Junction Flyover in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area.
According to the APC, Governor Oborevwori on Monday, January 19, 2026, flagged off the flyover project, which was awarded to Julius Berger at the cost of ₦59.7 billion with a delivery timeline of 14 months.
The party said the project fulfilled a long-standing demand by the people of Agbor and Ika Nation for government intervention at the junction, which it described as a dangerous interchange notorious for fatal motor accidents over the years.
“By this project, Governor Oborevwori has fulfilled a longstanding yearning of the good people of Agbor and Ika Nation to alleviate what had become a dangerous interchange that has claimed countless lives,” the party noted.
While noting that the immediate beneficiaries are residents of Agbor and its environs, the party said the flyover would serve Nigerians across the country, as it sits at a strategic intersection linking major routes to the East, West, North and South-South regions.
The APC added that the project would boost economic activities, ease travel, decongest traffic, enhance security and improve the wellbeing of commuters and residents.
The party also recalled that the Agbor project came barely a week after the governor performed the ground-breaking ceremony of the ₦39.3 billion Otovwodo Junction Flyover in Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area.
It said with other flyovers under construction at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout and Enerhen Junction, a total of five flyover projects are currently ongoing in Delta State, reflecting the administration’s commitment to expanding urban infrastructure and improving living standards.
Beyond infrastructure, the APC said the governor’s MORE Agenda; Meaningful development, Opportunities for all, Realistic reforms and Enhanced peace and security has delivered people-oriented benefits across the state.
These, the party said, include the clearance of pension and gratuity backlogs, investments in human capital development, payment of monthly stipends to 10,000 widows, collaboration with the Bank of Industry to recapitalise micro, small and medium enterprises, improved funding for tertiary institutions, and the acquisition of modern diagnostic equipment for hospitals.
The APC noted that Governor Oborevwori has consistently aligned his administration with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, attributing the state’s improved financial capacity to the impact of the President’s economic reforms and increased federal revenue allocations to sub-national governments.
The party also recalled that in April 2025, Oborevwori led the entire structure of the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State into the APC, a move it said has encouraged other opposition governors to support President Tinubu’s economic reforms.
The statement listed several dignitaries who attended the Agbor ground-breaking ceremony, including the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme; former Governor of Delta State, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa; the Dein of Agbor, HRM Benjamin Ikechukwu, Keagborekuzi I; lawmakers, senior government officials and traditional leaders from within and outside the state.
“We applaud the Governor for the impactful deployment of state resources in effective alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President and urge him to sustain his commitment to uplifting the living conditions and common good of all Deltans,” the APC said.
