Ododo, Kogi Youths Donate N100m for Tinubu’s 2027 Nomination Form
JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State on Monday led a delegation of youths from the state to present N100 million to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the nomination and expression of interest forms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The cheque was presented at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja to cover the cost of the President’s forms for the party’s primary.
Receiving the donation, the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, described the gesture as a bold show of support by the youths and disclosed that the Kogi group was the second entity to indicate interest in purchasing the President’s nomination form.
He, however, advised other groups or individuals planning to pay for Tinubu’s forms to drop the idea, noting that the first group that earlier signified interest had yet to make any financial commitment.
“We are seeing young men, youths from Kogi State taking a decisive action, not to ask for what the government or the President will do for them, but they are asking what they can do to support Mr President, as he will return back in 2027 and do much more for their people,” Yilwatda said.
He said the youths listed several reasons for their action, including what they described as improvements in the economy and security efforts in Kogi State.
According to him, the youths acknowledged the President’s support in tackling insecurity in the state, including the deployment of military personnel, as well as appointments given to indigenes of Kogi State.
Yilwatda also praised Governor Ododo’s performance in office, citing infrastructure development, youth empowerment and leadership inclusion.
“We have both the cash in our accounts and we have also the dummy. It’s not a voice note. These are the drafts of the 100 million Naira that is connected to this dummy. This is not a promissory note. This is a commitment,” he added.
Speaking at the event, Governor Ododo said no administration in Nigeria’s history had created as much space for young people as the current government.
“In the history of Nigeria, no government has ever given the youth a space as much as Mr President has done right now, of which I am a beneficiary as we speak,” the governor stated.
