JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports circulating on social media and other platforms alleging changes to the dates scheduled for its 2027 primary elections.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the ruling party described the reports as false and misleading, insisting that the timetable earlier released by the party remains valid.

Morka said the clarification became necessary following growing speculation and confusion generated by unverified claims suggesting that the APC had altered its primary election schedule ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, there has been no adjustment to any of the dates already announced by the party.

He stated that the primary election for the House of Representatives would hold on Friday, May 15, 2026, while the Senate primary is scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026.

The party spokesman further disclosed that the State House of Assembly primary election would take place on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, followed by the governorship primary on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

Morka added that the APC presidential primary election remains fixed for Saturday, May 23, 2026.

The party urged members, aspirants and the general public to disregard unofficial reports capable of creating uncertainty within its ranks.

The APC also advised stakeholders to rely only on official communication channels of the party for information relating to its activities and election processes.

The clarification comes amid heightened political activities and consultations within major political parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
