I Will Be Nigeria’s President Someday, Says Natasha Osawaru

Natasha Osawaru, wife of Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has declared her intention to become Nigeria’s president someday.

Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, made the declaration during the 92nd birthday celebration of her grandfather, Gabriel Igbinedion, in Benin City.

While celebrating the business mogul, the lawmaker spoke warmly about his age and achievements.

She also promised to pursue the presidency while he is still alive.

“You are amazing, you are like my baby right now, I love you so much,” Osawaru told her grandfather.

She added that she hoped to become president before his death.

“I promise you that I will be the president of this country before you go,” she said.

A video of the lawmaker making the declaration at the birthday ceremony has since gained attention on social media.

Osawaru represents Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly. She also serves as the assembly’s Minority Leader.

Following her appointment to the position, she described the role as a responsibility rather than a political reward.

“It is not a title but a trust,” she said.

Her presidential declaration comes as her political profile continues to grow in Edo State and beyond.

It also adds a new dimension to her public profile as the wife of 2Baba, one of Nigeria’s most recognised music stars.

The couple got married in July 2025, months after the singer’s widely publicised separation from Annie Macaulay Idibia.

They later held a dedication ceremony for their first child together in February.

The marriage attracted considerable public attention because of the circumstances surrounding 2Baba’s previous relationship.

However, the singer has repeatedly denied claims that Osawaru caused the collapse of his marriage to Annie.

He has maintained that his separation from Annie was not caused by his relationship with Osawaru.
