The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) will engage stakeholders and members of the public on its funding activities and contributions to Nigeria’s tertiary education sector at a town hall meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
The second National Town Hall Meeting, scheduled for October 15, will provide a platform for the Fund to explain its mandate, present its achievements and promote transparency in the management of education funding.
The Board of Trustees, chaired by former Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, is organising the meeting as part of efforts to strengthen accountability and improve public understanding of the Fund’s operations.
TETFund’s Director of Public Affairs, Abdulmumin Oniyangi, disclosed this in a statement, describing the engagement as part of the agency’s commitment to closer interaction with stakeholders.
The meeting is expected to attract policymakers, academics, students, civil society organisations and other members of the public. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the Fund’s leadership on its activities and priorities.
The discussions will also focus on TETFund’s role in supporting the development of tertiary education institutions across the country, including universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.
Beyond presenting its achievements, the engagement is expected to improve public knowledge of the Fund’s mandate and interventions, while providing an avenue for stakeholders to raise concerns and seek clarification on its operations.
TETFund urged education stakeholders and members of the public to attend the meeting and contribute to discussions on funding and the development of Nigeria’s tertiary education sector.
