Bello’s campaign posters: APC says no vacancy in leadership position of the party

•Warns mischief makers to desist

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has cleared air over the recent emergence of campaign posters of the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello “contesting” for the position of the National Chairman of the party.

Addressing journalists at the National Secretariat of the party on Tuesday, the APC Spokesperson, Barr. Felix Morka described such as handiwork of mischief makers and urged the perpetrators to desist from doing so.

National Periscope recalls that the news of Bello campaign posters went viral on Monday and it has since been generating reactions from different quarters.

While fielding questions from newsmen, Morka said in a democratic setting, such is expected, however, Dr. Umar Ganduje still remains the party’s National Chairman and the party so far has confidence in his leadership.

“There is no vacancy in the office of the National Chairman of the party. Our National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje is our Chairman and he is operating as the chairman.

“So, there is no vacancy in that office. And yes, we have also seen some of those posters. This is democracy. People do what they want. But, make no mistake because the office of the National Chairman is properly and fully occupied.

“And we have absolute and total confidence in his leadership of the Party. Nobody is asking for that office to be declared vacant and it is not vacant. I will want to warn those who are throwing these papers around to desist from doing that.” Morka said

He added that the party is yet to make any decision on organizing a mining convention any time soon.

“That is not our priority right now. We need to concentrate on the job that needs to be done to solve some of the problems that will make our country a better place for all of us.” He noted.
