Kano PCACC has no jurisdiction to probe Ganduje’s dollar scandal, court declares

The Federal High Court sitting in Kano on Tuesday ruled that Kano Public Compliant and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) lacks the power to investigate former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje over the dollar bribery video.
The presiding judge, Justice Abdullahi Liman while delivering his judgement said the it is a federal offense that can only be prosecuted by the Attorney General of Federation and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Justice Liman however said the Kano anti-graft agency has a limitation to investigate the former governor.
Meanwhile, speaking with newsmen shortly after the judgment, the counsel to PCACC, Usman Umar Fari said they will challenge the judgment at the Court of Appeal.
