Adamawa government flags off tree planting campaign.

Adamawa State government led by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has flagged off the 2023 tree-planting campaign at Jabbi Lamba in Girei Local Government Area.
Speaking at the event, Governor Fintiri said the programme will cover one thousand five hundred hectares of forest reserve.
He commended Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) for partnering with the state government to launch the programme.
The Governor directed the ACReSaL to embark on an ambitious drive to green the state capital Jimeta and Yola.
On his part, the Commissioner of Environment, Alhaji Mohammed Sadiq said the afforestation programme will curb environmental challenges.
The State Coordinator of ACReSaL, Dr Ibrahim Denis Chinda observed that climatic change has been affecting the state hence the need to put in place measures to control the menace.
Among the dignitaries that attended the program are Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Faraauta, Commissioners, Secretary to the State Government Hon. Auwal Tukur, and Chief of Staff Government House Dr. Edgar Amos among other top government officials.
