Wike presents as Tinubu meets Fubara, Rivers representatives.
President Bola Tinubu, yesterday, held a meeting with Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and other influential individuals from the oil-rich state.
The gathering took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and was also graced by Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, who previously served as the governor of Rivers State.
Leading stakeholders to meet with the President, Fubara presented an argument for the restoration of the East-West Road.
Addressing reporters after the confidential meeting, a prominent legal practitioner and former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Onueze Okocha, emphasized the significance of the East-West Road in relation to the Port Harcourt refinery, which the present government has pledged to revive.
He stated that representatives from Rivers State were also at the Villa to express their appreciation to Tinubu for selecting individuals from their state for his cabinet and other roles.
Among those selected by Tinubu are Wike and Special Media adviser to the President, Ajuri Ngelale.
According to Okocha, the residents of Rivers State are delighted with the nominations and have high hopes that the appointees will bring honor to the state.
Meanwhile, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has pledged to assist youthful business owners in the Niger Delta area by means of skill enhancement programs to foster enduring progress.
The Director General of the commission, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, announced this, yesterday, when a group of Coalition of South-South Chambers of Commerce Industry, Mines and Agriculture (COSSCCIMA), visited him at the NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt.
