In a noteworthy development for the Nigerian judiciary, Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, is set to administer the oath of office to nine recently appointed Justices of the Court of Appeal on Wednesday, September 20.

The esteemed Justices who will swear their oaths of office include 

Hannatu Laja-Balogun, from Kaduna State, has been a High Court judge since May 24, 1999. 

Binta Zubairu, also from Kaduna State, was appointed as a High Court Judge on October 31, 2001. 

Peter Obiora from Anambra State has been a High Court judge since January 17, 2005. 

Okon Abang, from Akwa Ibom State, assumed the role of a High Court judge on June 22, 2009. 

Asma’u Mainoma from the Federal Capital Territory was appointed as a High Court judge on February 1, 2013. 

Lateef Ganiyu, from Oyo State, has been serving as a High Court judge since June 26, 2014. 

Jane Iyang, from Cross River State, was sworn in as a High Court judge on February 12, 2015. 

Hadiza Shagari, from Sokoto State, was elevated to the High Court Bench on February 12, 2015. 

Paul Bassi from Borno State was appointed to the High Court on July 14, 2017. 

The distinguished Justices swearing in ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Supreme Court Main auditorium.  

As they ascend to the Court of Appeal, this event marks a significant milestone in their legal careers, which plays a vital role in the Nigerian legal system. 

They are expected to contribute to the administration of justice, uphold the rule of law, and ensure the fair and equitable resolution of legal disputes within the nation.
