Dr. Sami Charles joins Mandela, Tutu, two other Africans to ever win GUSI award
A Nigerian Lawyer and business Mogul, Dr. Sami Charles has joined the list of four other Africans to ever win GUSI Peace Prize Award.
Before President Ferdinand Marcos Of Philippine presented the GUSI award, as the most Dynamic African Businessman Of The Year 2023 to Charles in November, Africa had the late Nelson Mandela, former President of South African, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and two others as the only recipients.
Dr. Sami Charles received the Award, which is an Asian equivalent of the international Nobel Prize in Manila, the capital city of Philippines last month, in recognition of his substantial contributions to peace, global investment and egalitarian service to humanity in diaspora and particularly Nigeria.
Dr. Charles was recently featured in Forbes as the 15th richest African and 4th richest Nigerian, and has been honored with several awards and conferred with various chieftaincy titles in Nigeria and Ghana.
In the nomination letter signed by the President of the Gusi, Bosrd General Mohammed ljuhani, the Chairman Gagalang Galang Barry S. Gusi of GUSI Award Committee, and the Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jnr. It was stated, amongst others who have accomplished significant, measurable, and observable performances that increased effective and efficient service humanity and investment delivery.
In his tribute to celebrate the International feat of Dr. Sami Charles, HRM Offiong Inyang, lyamgbe Mbuze, noted that, “like Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, we have another Laureate in the person of Dr. Sami Charles as GUSI Laureate all in Nigeria.
“Dr. Sami is a man of quantum capacity, intelligence and an outstanding orator, whom Nigerians should not only embrace uniqueness but also acknowledge his profound positive impact in the world.
“As a nation that often recognizes achievements and emphasizes strength and resilience, this is the time to appreciate and receive our GUSI Laureate, who has deepened Nigeria’s international image by engraving it in the historic hall of fame of Asia for Nigeria.
” The achievement is not only astronomical, it is him, amid the diverse qualities that make Sami Charles a man exceptionally unique.
Sami Charles we appreciate and value your Award, congratulations.” Offiong noted.
