Just In : Fubara Presents 2024 Budget To Five Rivers Lawmakers
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Wednesday, presented the 2024 Appropriation Bill to five members of the state House of Assembly.
This came a few minutes after the demolition of the House of Assembly complex started.
The 27 members, loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, were not present at the sitting.
Recall that the twenty-seven of them recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Earlier, the Edison Ehie led House had declared seats of 25 out of the 27 lawmakers vacant in line with Section 109 (1) (g) and 2 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended.
Meanwhile, National Periscope learnt that the Lawmaker representing (Okrika), in Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Linda Somari Stewart, has reversed her earlier defection to the APC. She has fully returned to the PDP, and is part of the camp loyal to Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
