Just in : Nigerian pastor honours Sheikh Gumi, give reason

The Cherubim and Seraphim Movement (Christ the King Cathedral) in Kaduna has bestowed honors upon African Peace Icons, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi and Pastor Yohanna Buru, in recognition of their efforts in fostering harmony and tolerance among the populace.

Pastor Christopher Solomon, representing the church, explained that the decision to honor Gumi and Buru was based on their outstanding contributions to humanity and their dedicated endeavors in promoting peace, as reported by NAN.

Both Gumi and Buru have been acknowledged as ‘Peace Ambassadors’ for their steadfast commitment to peace-building in the state.

“Their efforts in promoting religious tolerance and fostering better understanding have played a significant role in mitigating religious extremism and attacks among adherents of different faith-based organizations,” he said.

Upon receiving the honors, the award recipients conveyed their gratitude to the Almighty God for the recognition bestowed upon them. Buru and Gumi expressed their appreciation for the honor and called on Muslims and Christians to continually coexist in peace and harmony.

Additionally, they appealed to both the state and Federal Governments to address the ongoing security challenges impacting various aspects of human life. The awardees extended their thanks to the organizers for acknowledging their contributions.

In their prayers, the recipients sought peace and stability for the state and the entire country.
