NNPCL breaks silence on rumored increment of Fuel pump price to N1,200
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has debunked the alleged plans to increase the pump price of premium motor spirit, popularly known as petrol to N1,200 per litre.
Reports emerged on the internet on Wednesday alleging that NNPCL will soon announce a new increase in the fuel pump price across the country.
However, reacting to the reports which have become controversial, NNPCL in a statement issued by its Group Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, denied the reports, saying that there were no plans to hike fuel prices in the country.
Soneye stated, “NNPC Ltd. emphasises it has not clashed with any party. The Punch headline is deemed unfortunate.
“The publication sought confirmation on the alleged subsidy reduction, to which NNPC responded that the subsidy has been entirely removed,” he added.
