Edo guber primary: Uzodimma promises to present credible APC flagbearer

The Governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma has promised the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC), to present a marketable candidate capable of flying the flag of the party high in the September governorship election coming up in Edo State.

Uzodimma who was earlier inaugurated on Thursday by the National Chairman of APC, Dr. Umar Ganduje as the Chairman, Edo State Governorship Primary Election Committee disclosed this in his remarks.

He noted that the committee will do everything possible to justify the confidence imposed in them, promising to work in synergy with the leadership of the party both at national and state levels to present a worthy candidate.

“Your Excellency, Mr. Chairman, it is indeed an honor to call on all of us as members of these two important committees to go to Edo State to midwife the process of selecting a gubernatorial candidate for the forthcoming election. It is a thing of big trust, and we feel humbled. 

“On behalf of myself and members of these committees, we want to thank you and the National Working Committee for this show of confidence and our prayers is that we work hard to justify this confidence imposed on us. 

“Our party is a fantastic brand, very popular, and a good product. It behooves members of our committee to work in harmony with the local leadership of the party in Edo State to bring up a product that will look like our party and is easily marketable in Edo State. To the glory of God, we will do our best,” he said.

In his remarks, Ganduje noted that the composition of both primary election and appeal committees is in line with the constitution of the party, noting that any aggrieved aspirant has the right to appeal.

 ” It has being a tradition and a culture and in particular in our party, we always constitute a body that will undertake any assignment so that at the end of it, we will get a good result with due process and transparency.

” Whatever you do, the contestant is free to appeal. We can say, it is the ‘ supreme court of this exercise’.

” The composition of the two committees is a product of the party’s NWC in accordance with the constitution of the party.” Ganduje said.
