Eid-El-Fitr Celebration: Olowa felicitates Muslims, calls for peace

Olowa and Paramount Ruler of Igbara-Oke kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, OFR has congratulated the Muslim faithfuls as they celebrate Eid-El-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan fast.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Statement to the Monarch, Ayodeji Owolabi and was made available to NATIONAL PERISCOPE, Olowa said the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr marks the culmination of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the month of prayers and supplications, blessings and forgiveness. According to him, “the spirit behind the observance of this season for Muslims is to express their appreciation to Almighty Allah for giving them the courage to observe the fast in the Holy month and to rededicate themselves to the truthfulness, sincerity, self control, patience, tolerance and human dignity, showing complete obedience to Allah.”
Oba Agbede also expressed hope that this season would be the harbinger of peace, progress, happiness that will strengthen the bond of collective harmony, brotherhood and amity which are hallmarks of nation’s growth and development.
The monarch reiterated the importance of forgiveness at this period, and the need to “use this season of celebration to pray for the continued peace, prosperity and development of our State and country.”
He reminds every member of the community of their obligations and responsibilities towards others, especially the poor and the Distressed. He said this would help strengthen our peaceful coexistence and equitable progress of the state and nation at large.
The traditional ruler therefore urged every citizen of the country to continue to live in love, peace and unity towards building a glorious nation where there is no place for hatred.
