Fubara Reshuffles Cabinet Amidst Rivers Crisis
Joel Oladele, Abuja
The Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reshuffled his cabinet amidst the political crisis rocking the State.
The Governor, in a statement on Tuesday night by the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, redeployed the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of the state, Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor to the Ministry of Special Duties (Governor’s Office).
Fubara also sent the Commissioner for Finance, Isaac Kamalu, to the Ministry of Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment.
The Governor ordered them to immediately hand over to their respective permanent secretaries.
He said: “They are to hand over to their respective permanent secretaries immediately as this deployment takes immediate effect. All handover processes must be completed immediately”.
Both commissioners, who are loyalists of ex-governor Nyesom Wike, had previously resigned from their positions last December in the heat of the political crisis in the state and the rift between Fubara and his predecessor who is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). However, they were reinstated as part of the peace agreement initiated by President Bola Tinubu.
The governor did not provide a reason for their redeployment.
