Aare Hon. Tolu Bankole, the APC National Leader for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his recent appointment of Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as the new Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
Bankole in a statement on Thursday, expressed gratitude for the administration’s commitment to uplifting vulnerable populations and emphasized the importance of innovative leadership in addressing pressing societal issues.
“Today, we extend our warmest congratulations to Dr. Yilwatda on his appointment. This selection reflects a profound dedication to addressing the needs of the most vulnerable in our society, particularly persons with disabilities,” Bankole said.
Bankole underscored the high expectations set upon the new minister, urging Yilwatda to bring forth innovative solutions aimed at combating poverty and improving humanitarian efforts across Nigeria. “We eagerly anticipate Dr. Yilwatda’s fresh perspective and proactive strategies, and we believe that the time for impactful change is now,” he remarked.
Dr. Yilwatda’s appointment comes at a crucial time as the nation seeks to enhance support systems for those living with disabilities. Bankole expressed confidence that Yilwatda would embody vision, dedication, and compassion in his new role, ensuring that the aspirations of all Nigerians, particularly the PWD community, are prioritized. He urged the minister to rise to the expectations placed upon him and looked forward to seeing tangible improvements aimed at enhancing the quality of life for persons with disabilities across the country.
In addition to congratulating Yilwatda, Hon. Bankole also recognized other notable appointees, which include Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi as Minister of Labour & Employment, Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, among others. He called on all newly appointed ministers to adopt an inclusive approach within their ministries, promoting an environment where the voices of all citizens are heard and integrated into policy-making processes.
“Together, let us work towards a more inclusive Nigeria where every citizen can thrive,” Bankole urged, echoing the sentiments of hope and collaboration that characterized his statement.
