After Declaring Self Tinubu’s Spokesman, Presidency Downgrades Bwala’s Role

Just hours after Daniel Bwala announced himself as the official spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu, the presidency made adjustments to his role.
During his initial briefing at the State House in Abuja, Bwala informed journalists that he would serve as the president’s primary spokesperson. However, a few hours later, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Tinubu, issued a statement clarifying Bwala’s position.
In the statement, Onanuga explained that the president had reorganized the roles within the State House media and communications team to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
The statement read: “President Bola Tinubu has redefined the roles of two newly appointed officials in the State House media and communications team to enhance the government’s communication structure.”
The role adjustments include Mr. Sunday Dare, who was previously designated as Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, now holding the title of Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications. Mr. Daniel Bwala, initially appointed as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, will now serve as Special Adviser on Policy Communication.
