Tolu Bankole Backs Morka, Calls Obi’s Accusations Baseless

JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

In a show of solidarity, a member of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aare (Hon.) Tolu Bankole, has publicly supported the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, following what he described as “baseless accusations” made by former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi.

In a statement signed by Bankole on Tuesday, he said Morka has discharged his role with the utmost professionalism, maturity, and a commitment to truth.

The APC Bigwig emphasized that Morka’s dedication to defending the party’s policies and the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He reiterated his confidence in Morka’s character, asserting, “I know him to be a man of peace who would never threaten anyone’s life.”

This is coming amidst the recent statement and video clips from Arise TV interview where the APC Spokesperson was accused of threatening Obi.

Defending Morka after reviewing the statement that sparked the controversy, Bankole said; “I find no evidence of any threat to Mr. Obi or his family. Morka’s comments were within the bounds of political discourse and in response to criticisms of our government.”

He firmly asserted that the APC is a party of peace and criticized Obi’s allegations as unfounded, expressing concern that they undermine constructive dialogue in Nigeria’s democracy.

“It is, however, troubling that Mr. Obi, whose followers have gained notoriety for online bullying and issuing threats, would level such accusations,” Bankole remarked.

Reaffirming the APC’s commitment to nation-building, Bankole urged Obi to stop playing the victim and focus on providing fact-based, constructive opposition.

“I urge Mr. Obi to stop playing the victim and focus on providing fact-based, constructive opposition. The APC administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to nation-building, and we welcome constructive criticism grounded in truth.

“Felix Morka has my full support as he continues to perform his duties with integrity. Let it be known that no amount of false allegations can distract the APC from its mandate of delivering good governance to the Nigerian people,” Bankole noted.
