APC Screens Paul Chukwuma Ahead of Anambra Guber Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has kicked off the screening process for its aspirants ahead of the highly anticipated Anambra Governorship Primaries, with prominent candidate Paul Chukwuma being the first to appear before the screening committee.
National Periscope reports that the party, Thursday announced its intention to commence the 2-day exercise on Friday, which according to the timetable is expected to end on Saturday.
Speaking to journalists after the screening, on Friday, Chukwuma expressed confidence in his candidacy and commitment to leading the party to victory in the upcoming elections.
“The screening is a routine procedure to ensure that all aspirants are fit and qualified to hold the gubernatorial office in Anambra State.
“I am happy to say that we are ready for the election in line with the party’s programmes and I’m hopeful that at the end of the day I will be elected by our party delegates to fly the flag and I am quite convinced by the special grace of God, APC will take the reign of power in Anambra state with me as the candidate of the party and eventually the governor of Anambra state,” Chukwuma said.
The APC Chieftain emphasized the inclusive nature of the party, mentioning the party’s policy of accepting members who align with its programs, regardless of when they joined.
“As a human, I feel great that our political party allows those willing to support its vision to join. It’s all about discipline and commitment to the party’s activities.
“I created a platform to attract new members, and I am glad to see that it has worked,” he noted.
Reflecting on his journey within the party, he remarked, “Today’s outcomes are the results of years of hard work by myself and fellow progressives. The party’s constitution and programs are designed to support a democratic process, welcoming anyone who believes they are qualified to contest. Still, I am confident that party members will choose me as their candidate to lead Anambra State towards progress.”
Addressing his readiness for the primaries and the general elections, Chukwuma stated, “The decision to conduct indirect primaries is welcome news. I am comfortable with this process as it ensures that party members—the true stakeholders—have their voices heard. I’ve built lasting relationships with these members since the party’s inception, and I am optimistic that my dedication to the party will resonate with them.”
As the senior member of the APC in Anambra, Chukwuma noted how he has taken on a mentorship role for other aspirants, reflecting a strong camaraderie among them.
“I believe every aspirant is capable of leading the state, but I also recognize that my background and experience put me in a prime position to guide the Anambra APC to Government House,” he said.
Chukwuma therefore concluded with a hopeful message, asserting, “When I emerge as the party’s candidate, I trust my fellow aspirants will rally behind me to restore Anambra to the people of the state. Together, we will build a brighter future for Ndi Anambra.”
