HoSF Charges Workers to Prioritize Service Delivery in PMS Monitoring Visit

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoSF), Esther Didi Walson-Jack, has yesterday in Abuja led a high-level monitoring team to the Federal Ministry of Finance to assess the implementation of the Performance Management System (PMS) in the Federal Civil Service with a charge on workers to prioritize and ensure efficient service delivery to Nigerians

Walson-Jack, who was received by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, Lydia Shehu Jafiya, and the Ministry’s Directors in her office in Abuja, stated that the visit aimed to evaluate the progress of PMS implementation in the Ministry, identify areas of strength and weakness, as well as provide recommendations for improvement.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office, in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Fatima Sugra Mahmood, the Head of Service emphasized that the PMS is a critical tool for achieving excellence in the civil service.

She urged officers to leverage the system to enhance productivity, accountability, and transparency.

“As we strive for a more efficient and effective civil service, it is imperative that we prioritize service delivery and ensure that our actions translate to tangible benefits for the Nigerian people,” Walson-Jack stated.

The Head of Service commended the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, and the Minister of State Finance, Dr. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite, for their doggedness in driving the economic reforms of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Administration, which she said is repositioning the Economy for the future of our nation.

She reiterated her commitment to the realization of policy objectives of government regarding the PMS.

Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, Lydia Shehu Jafiya, expressed her appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to implementing the PMS effectively.

She assured that the Ministry would continue to prioritize service delivery, ensuring tangible benefits for the Nigerian people.

The meeting reviewed the Ministry’s performance metrics and targets, analyzed challenges, and explored opportunities for improvement.
