BUA Cement Increases Ex-Factory Price by N400 Per Bag
JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

BUA Cement has announced an increase of N400 per bag on ex-factory price with effective from noon on Tuesday.
This was contained in an SMS sent to his dealers across the country earlier today to inform them of the development.
Ex-Factory Price is the price at which company agrees to sell goods on ground from their factory.
The message as seen by NATIONAL PERICOPE indicated that the news is applicable to the company’s two factories located in Sokoto and Okpella, in Edo State.
The message reads; “Dear Esteem Dealers, there is an increase of N400/bag on self-collection (ex-factory) price only from both factories.
Speaking with our correspondent, one of the Cement Dealers in Abuja, the CEO of MKO Cement, Alhaji Kehinde Olota, noted that with the announcement, the BUA Cement which used to be sold at N8,800 per bag will now be sold at N9,200 from factory.
While expressing concerns over the sudden increase, Olota said it may discourage low income earners from embarking on building project.
“It’s quite disturbing that we woke up to the news of the new increase in the ex-factory price of BUA cement. While this is not new, I’m bothered if this goes unchecked, an average citizen may be denied access to good house.
“This will have a direct effect on the cost of building a house and indirectly rent,” Olota said.
NATIONAL PERICOPE also gathered that other brands may also announce their new price any time soon.
