In an exciting final of the 2025 Unity Cup, Nigeria’s Super Eagles faced off against Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz, resulting in a thrilling 2-2 draw that led to a penalty shootout.

Nigeria ultimately triumphed, winning 5-4 on penalties, with debutant Chrisantus Uche scoring the decisive kick.

The match took place at Brentford Stadium in London, where both teams showcased their skills and determination. Nigeria took the lead early in the game when captain Moses Simon scored a well-placed goal, assisted by Cyriel Dessers.

In the second half, Samuel Chukwueze added to Nigeria’s tally with a stunning solo effort, putting the Super Eagles ahead once again. However, Jamaica proved to be a formidable opponent, equalizing twice during the match and keeping the excitement alive for the fans.

With the score tied at 2-2 at the end of regular time, the match moved to penalties. Jamaica was the first to take a shot, with King converting his penalty. Nigeria, however, remained composed and successfully converted all five of their penalty kicks. The moment of glory came when Chrisantus Uche, playing in his first senior match, confidently scored the winning penalty, securing the Unity Cup for Nigeria.

This victory marks a significant achievement for the Super Eagles, who previously won the inaugural Unity Cup 21 years ago in 2004, and now successfully retain the trophy.
