Police Launch Probe into Viral Video of Mother Giving Child Suspected Alcohol

ESTHER SALIFU, Abuja

The Nigeria Police Force has launched an investigation into a viral video showing a mother feeding her young daughter a suspicious beverage, triggering widespread outrage and concern on social media.

The footage, which surfaced over the weekend, captures the woman giving the child an unidentified substance believed to be alcoholic. The disturbing clip has drawn strong public condemnation and calls for swift action.

In a statement posted on the Force’s official social media handle, police confirmed the incident is under active investigation.

“We are aware of this distressing video and are investigating urgently. Exposing a child to alcohol is illegal and dangerous.

“We urge @ChuksEricE and any member of the public with valuable information that could lead to the swift apprehension of this ‘mother’ to not hesitate to provide same. They can reach out to us on 09169967000. The child’s safety is our priority,” the statement read.
