NAUS Backs Olajengbesi’s Political Bid, Lauds Legacy of Justice, Youth Empowerment

The National Association of University Students (NAUS) has endorsed human rights lawyer and student activist, Barr. Pelumi Olajengbesi, for the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency seat, hailing his unwavering commitment to justice, youth development, and student empowerment.

In a statement signed on Wednesday, by the Deputy National President for National & Campus Affairs, NAUS, Comrade Meshach Anthony Nwankwo, he described Olajengbesi as a “founding father of the association,” whose legacy spans from his days as President of the University of Abuja Students Union to serving as NAUS Vice President.

“Barr. Pelumi has consistently stood at the frontlines of activism, using his voice, platform, and resources to confront injustice and empower young people across the country,” the statement noted.

As Principal Partner at Law Corridor, Olajengbesi has led landmark human rights cases, mentored young leaders, supported student entrepreneurs, and provided legal backing for activists, initiatives that NAUS says reflect his deep-rooted passion for societal progress.

NAUS said its student structures will be fully deployed to support his candidacy, stating, “Leadership must be earned through sacrifice, and Barr. Pelumi has earned it a thousand times over.”

The student body urged political leaders and constituents to take note of Olajengbesi’s outstanding qualities, pledging a grassroots campaign involving door-to-door sensitization, PVC awareness drives, and community engagement to ensure an informed electorate.

“Together, we can build a brighter future for our community,” NAUS declared.
