Ogbodo Honoured with Global Peace Icon Award, Joins World’s Distinguished Fellows

From Benue to the World, the Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director of Lydia Memorial Hospital, Ugbokolo, Dr. Mark  Ogbodo, has been awarded as the distinguished Fellow, Global Peace Ambassador, by the Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management (IGPCM), for his dedication to advancing global Peace, conflict resolution and security.

Dr. Ogbodo was also duly certified and inducted into the Global Peace Hall of Fame as Distinguished Fellow, the highest cadre of the Global Peace Ambassadors of the Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the promotion of peace and conflict resolution.

In addition, he was also licensed as a conflict manager based on his competence, professional practice and his commitment to maintaining global best practices.

Dr. Ogbodo, who is also an author of several books to his credit, received the award alongside other distinguished Nigerians during the induction training workshop, certification, fellowship investiture and global Peace Icon Award Ceremony, of the Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management, held on Saturday, 30th August , 2025, at the Barcelona Hotel in Abuja.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Ogbodo, who said there is no alternative to peace for a better society, appreciated the organizers for the honor and pledged to do more for humanity.

In an induction lecture titled; “The Role of Peace Ambassadors in Expanding Membership for a stronger Peace Movement”, Dr. Adetunberu Oludotun, who is also the President in Council, Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management, emphasized the importance of peace in society and called on members to always strive to bring peace in their various communities and beyond so as to help achieve world peace.

According to Dr. Oludotun, the organization envisaged a world of tranquility and is committed to raising a generation of peace builders for sustainable development to achieve peace through the instrumentality of minds shaping inculcation of true values and development attitudes of tolerance and accommodation of divergence of opinions and perceptions of people
