Gov. Ododo Mourns Former Senator Obaro

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has expressed his condolences to the family of the late Senator Isah Obaro Abonyi.

Senator Abonyi represented what is now Kogi Central Senatorial District (formerly part of Kwara South) in the Senate from 1979 to 1983, leaving a lasting legacy of dedication to public service and the development of his constituency.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo hailed the late senator as a distinguished statesman and patriot whose contributions to the growth and unity of Kogi State are deeply appreciated.

The Governor noted that Senator Obaro’s life of integrity, humility and service earned him respect across the state and nation.

The Governor emphasized that the late senator was always in touch with leaders across the state, offering valuable contributions toward development, described his passing as a significant loss not only to his family and Kogi Central but to the entire state.

Governor Ododo prayed that Almighty Allah grant Senator Obaro eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and give his family strength and solace during this difficult time.
