The send-forth ceremony, held recently, brought together management and staff of the agency to celebrate officers who have either completed 35 years in service or attained the statutory retirement age.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of NiMet, Prof. Charles Anosike, described the ceremony as a significant milestone in the agency’s institutional history.

He commended the retirees for their professionalism, technical competence and steadfast commitment to NiMet’s mandate over the years.

According to him, the retiring officers played critical roles in providing stability, preserving institutional memory and mentoring younger staff, thereby contributing immensely to the growth and resilience of the agency.

Prof. Anosike noted that the retirees consistently upheld NiMet’s core values and standards, while ensuring the effective transfer of knowledge and skills necessary for sustaining operational excellence.

He added that their contributions have strengthened the agency’s capacity to deliver on its responsibilities and adapt to emerging challenges.

In their separate remarks, the retirees expressed appreciation to the Director-General for what they described as his transformative leadership.

They credited him with repositioning NiMet, boosting staff morale and driving reforms that have improved operational efficiency and enhanced the agency’s national profile.

They described his tenure as one defined by innovation, integrity and a renewed sense of institutional purpose.
