Ramadan: Ododo Urges Religious Tolerance, Vigilance, Peaceful Coexistence

The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on residents of the state to embrace religious tolerance, vigilance and peaceful coexistence as Muslims across the world commence the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, the governor described Ramadan as a sacred period of fasting, prayer, reflection and spiritual rejuvenation for the Muslim Ummah.

According to him, “the holy month of Ramadan offers an opportunity for believers to strengthen their relationship with Almighty Allah and reaffirm commitment to the values of compassion, charity, humility and self-discipline.”

Governor Ododo urged Muslim faithful in the state to use the period to pray for sustained peace, stability and development of Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting freedom of worship and promoting peaceful coexistence among people of different religious backgrounds across the state.

The governor also encouraged Muslims to remain law-abiding and vigilant throughout the fasting period, stressing the need for collective responsibility in maintaining peace and security.

He prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the fasts, prayers and acts of charity of all Muslims, while urging them to extend compassion to the needy.

Ododo emphasized that kindness, generosity and unity represent the true essence of Ramadan, calling on residents of the state to continue to live together in harmony for the overall progress of Kogi State.
