Arsenal Plot €130m Move for Osimhen Ahead of Summer Window

Victor Osimhen

Arsenal F.C. are reportedly preparing a massive €130 million bid to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray S.K. ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Reports from Turkey indicate that the North London club see the Super Eagles forward as the final piece needed to strengthen their attack as manager Mikel Arteta pushes for major domestic and European trophies.

Osimhen has drawn renewed attention across Europe following his impressive performances since joining Galatasaray in a €75 million permanent deal last summer.

The 27-year-old striker has enjoyed a prolific campaign in Turkey, scoring 18 goals and providing six assists in 27 appearances across all competitions, including matches in the UEFA Champions League.

His form has placed him among the most sought-after forwards in Europe ahead of the next transfer window, with several top clubs believed to be monitoring his situation.

Arteta is said to be keen on signing a proven centre-forward capable of consistently leading the line for Arsenal as the club intensifies its push for honours in the Premier League and in Europe.

Although Arsenal strengthened their attacking options last summer with the arrival of Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP in a €66 million deal, the Swedish striker has reportedly struggled to fully meet expectations.

Meanwhile, forwards Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz have also found it difficult to consistently establish themselves as the team’s primary source of goals.

To finance a potential move for Osimhen, Arsenal may consider reshaping their squad. Reports suggest Gabriel Jesus could be sold, with interest from clubs in Italy and Brazil.

Osimhen has also impressed in European competition this season, recording seven goals and three assists in nine Champions League matches.

In the Turkish domestic league, he has contributed 11 goals and four assists, underlining his importance to Galatasaray’s campaign.

The Nigerian striker is under contract with Galatasaray until June 2029, and his strong performances have significantly boosted his market value.

Any attempt by Arsenal to secure his services would therefore represent a major financial investment for the club.
