Iranian Commander Who Threatened Netanyahu Reportedly Killed in Airstrike

Mohammad Karami

A senior Iranian military commander who allegedly vowed to track down and kill Israel’s prime minister has reportedly been killed in an Israeli airstrike only hours after issuing the threat.

Mohammad Karami, commander of the ground forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was said to have died in a strike in Isfahan, Iran, according to reports circulating on international media platforms.

The reported attack occurred roughly two hours after Karami allegedly issued a public statement threatening to “hunt down and kill” Benjamin Netanyahu.

Karami had only recently been appointed to lead the IRGC ground forces in June 2025.

Sources indicated that the strike was carried out in the central Iranian city of Isfahan, although neither Iranian authorities nor the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had officially confirmed the incident as of late Monday.

The reported killing comes amid intensifying hostilities between Israel and Iran following the outbreak of a major military confrontation around late February.

The crisis escalated after coordinated attacks reportedly targeted key Iranian facilities, triggering retaliatory strikes across the region.

Separate reports earlier in the day also claimed that Mohammad Kazemi and his deputy, Hassan Mohaqeq, were killed in other precision strikes linked to the same wave of attacks.

In addition, there were accounts of strikes targeting strategic Iranian infrastructure, including a major telecommunications facility in the western city of Hamedan.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Netanyahu was reported to be safe and had released a video message to dispel rumours circulating online about his own safety.

The latest developments have further heightened tensions in the Middle East, where fears of a broader regional conflict continue to mount as military exchanges between the two countries intensify.
