Dele Momodu Tackles Fani-Kayode as Verbal War Intensifies

The exchange of words between Dele Momodu and Femi Fani-Kayode has deepened, with both men attacking each other over politics and personal conduct.

Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), criticised Fani-Kayode in a fresh statement, describing him as overly aggressive and prone to unnecessary fights.

He said he had known Fani-Kayode’s late father and was disappointed by what he sees as the former minister’s behaviour despite his privileged upbringing and education.

Momodu also reacted to Fani-Kayode’s recent deployment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Germany, saying the role requires restraint and discipline.

He added that Fani-Kayode had previously shared his frustrations about not holding office and had explored other political options, including reaching out to allies of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

According to him, “Femi without power is like a fish out of water,” suggesting that his outbursts are driven by desperation.

Fani-Kayode had earlier attacked Momodu, saying his “glory days are over” and describing him as “tired and worn out.” He also claimed that by 2027, when President Bola Tinubu is expected to seek re-election, Momodu would be politically irrelevant.

The former minister further accused Momodu of being emotional and lacking logic in his criticisms.

The latest clash signals rising political tensions ahead of the 2027 elections, as key figures continue to exchange sharp words in public.
