Premier League: Everton Deepen Chelsea’s Woes with 3-0 Victory

Everton delivered a commanding performance on Saturday, defeating Chelsea 3-0 to pile more pressure on the London side’s faltering campaign.
The hosts were clinical at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Beto scoring twice to lead the charge, while Iliman Ndiaye sealed the emphatic win with a late strike.
Beto opened the scoring in the 33rd minute after latching onto a precise pass from James Garner, who capped an impressive week following his maiden England call-up.
The striker doubled Everton’s lead shortly after the hour mark, calmly slotting the ball through the legs of Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez.
Ndiaye then put the result beyond doubt with 14 minutes remaining, curling a fine effort into the top corner to give Everton their biggest win over Chelsea in decades and back-to-back victories at their new home.
The result lifts Everton to seventh in the Premier League standings with 46 points from 31 matches, just two points behind sixth-placed Chelsea, who remain on 48 points.
The Merseyside club is now firmly in contention for a European place next season.
For Chelsea, the defeat extends a worrying run of form, with the team now winless in four matches across all competitions, including a recent elimination from the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain.
Manager Liam Rosenior took responsibility for the loss, lamenting his side’s defensive lapses.
“The responsibility and accountability is with me,” he said. “We set up differently today and I thought we were comfortable before Everton scored, but the difference was in both boxes.”
He also criticised his team’s tendency to concede avoidable goals.
“At the moment we are gifting goals away. It keeps happening too often, and it gives energy to the opposition and their fans. Everton fully deserved the victory, and it is something we have to change very quickly,” Rosenior added.
The defeat raises further questions about Chelsea’s consistency as the season enters a crucial stage, while Everton continue their late push for a European finish.
