CAC Announces Temporary Shutdown of Portal for Maintenance

JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced a temporary shutdown of its online portal to allow for scheduled maintenance, assuring users that the exercise is aimed at improving service delivery.

The notice, signed by the Commission’s management and posted on its verified X account on Friday, informed the public that the downtime would take effect from midnight, April 17, 2026, and last until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026.

According to the statement, access to the portal may be disrupted during the maintenance window.

“To serve you better, we will be carrying out scheduled maintenance on our portal this weekend, from 12:00 midnight today, 17th April 2026, to 6:00 a.m. on Monday, 20th April 2026,” the Commission stated.

It added, “During this period, the portal may be temporarily unavailable.”

The CAC, which oversees business registration and corporate regulation in Nigeria, appealed to users for understanding, noting that the maintenance was necessary to enhance system performance and user experience.

“We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding,” the statement read.

The announcement means that services such as company registration, name reservation, and filing of statutory documents may be inaccessible during the period, potentially affecting businesses and legal practitioners who rely on the platform for time-sensitive transactions.

The Commission, however, assured stakeholders that normal operations would resume immediately after the maintenance window, with expectations of improved efficiency on the platform.
