Enitonna Alumni Set to Unveil Development Masterplan May 3

The Enitonna High School Alumni Association has announced plans to launch a comprehensive development blueprint aimed at repositioning the historic Enitonna High School for future growth.

The unveiling is scheduled for May 3, 2026, during a Presidential Luncheon to be held at the school chapel in Borokiri, Port Harcourt. The event is expected to draw alumni, education stakeholders, traditional leaders and industry figures from across the country.

According to a statement signed by the association’s National President, Godfrey Ohuabunwa, the Strategic Development Masterplan represents a major step in strengthening the institution’s legacy while preparing it for emerging educational demands.

He described the initiative as a collective effort by old students and stakeholders to give back to the school that has shaped generations of leaders.

“This is more than the unveiling of a development plan. It is a reaffirmation of our commitment to the rebirth, growth, and long-term advancement of our alma mater,” he said.

Ohuabunwa noted that the plan focuses on key areas including infrastructure renewal, academic improvement, digital transformation, student welfare and stronger alumni engagement, all aimed at enhancing the school’s competitiveness.

Founded in 1932, Enitonna High School remains one of the oldest and most respected secondary institutions in the old Rivers and Bayelsa region, with a long-standing reputation for discipline, scholarship and leadership.

The association said the event, themed “Uniting Our Past, Building Our Future,” would also serve as an opportunity to celebrate the school’s heritage and honour notable alumni who have contributed to its reputation over the decades.

Among those recognised are Austin Adiele Opara, a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Mao Ohuabunwa, a former senator and member of the ECOWAS Parliament.

The alumni body expressed confidence that the masterplan would help sustain the institution’s legacy while aligning it with modern educational standards and global best practices.
