Member of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aare Tolu Bankole, has urged party members and candidates to embrace unity and intensify grassroots mobilisation following the conclusion of the party’s nationwide primaries.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Bankole congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates who emerged victorious in the recently concluded primaries held across the federation.
He described the exercise as a demonstration of the APC’s internal democratic strength, organisational discipline and commitment to transparent and competitive political processes.
According to him, the outcome of the primaries reflects the confidence reposed in the party’s candidates by delegates, stakeholders and members at various levels of the political structure.
Bankole noted that while victory at the primaries is significant, it also comes with greater responsibility and a call to deeper commitment to the party’s vision and national development agenda.
“Victory at the primaries is not an end in itself but a call to greater responsibility, sacrifice and commitment to the ideals of our great party,” he said.
He urged all successful aspirants to remain humble, accessible and focused as they transition from internal contests to broader political engagement with the electorate.
The APC chieftain also extended special congratulations to President Tinubu, describing his emergence as the party’s presidential flagbearer as a strong endorsement of his leadership and reform agenda.
He said the President’s victory reflected the confidence of party members in his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which he noted is already driving economic reforms and institutional strengthening across the country.
“President Tinubu’s endorsement is a clear affirmation of his courageous leadership, bold reforms and commitment to repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and stability,” Bankole stated.
He further congratulated all governorship, National Assembly and state assembly candidates who secured the party’s tickets, urging them to see their emergence as a mandate for service rather than personal triumph.
Bankole called for reconciliation among aspirants who participated in the primaries, stressing the need for unity and collective purpose within the party.
“There are no winners or losers in the APC family. The task ahead requires everyone to work together for the success of the party and the progress of Nigeria,” he said.
He emphasized that with the primaries concluded, the party must now shift focus to mobilisation, grassroots engagement and voter outreach across all levels.
According to him, the real political work begins after the primaries, as candidates and party structures must consolidate support at the ward and polling unit levels.
“The primaries may have ended, but the greater task of mobilisation and engagement has just begun. This is the time for every member of our party to close ranks and work together,” he added.
Bankole urged APC members to take the party’s message to communities nationwide, noting that sustained engagement with the electorate would be key to electoral success.
He expressed confidence that the APC, under President Tinubu’s leadership, would continue to deliver on its mandate of economic transformation, security improvement and inclusive development.
Bankole concluded by calling on party faithful to remain steadfast, peaceful and committed as preparations intensify for the general elections.
“The task ahead is collective. We must all work together to ensure victory for our great party and continued progress for Nigeria,” he said.
