Arrested Sule Yellow

A suspected bandit popularly known as Sule Yellow, who gained attention on TikTok for frequently displaying large sums of cash, has reportedly been arrested by troops of the Nigerian Army.

Security sources said the suspect was apprehended while returning to a forest enclave after allegedly collecting ransom proceeds from relatives of a kidnapped victim.

Sule Yellow had built a significant following on TikTok, where he regularly posted videos showing bundles of cash and a lavish lifestyle, attracting widespread attention on the social media platform.

Authorities suspect that some of the money featured in the videos may have been derived from kidnapping activities, although official details of the investigation have yet to be made public.

Sources familiar with the operation said troops intercepted the suspect during a security operation targeted at criminal elements operating in the area.

The arrest is seen as part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to dismantle kidnapping and banditry networks responsible for attacks and abductions in several parts of the country.

A video purportedly showing the suspect’s arrest has since surfaced online and is being widely circulated on X, formerly known as Twitter, and other social media platforms.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Nigerian Army nor other security agencies had issued an official statement confirming the circumstances surrounding the arrest.

However, security observers say the development could provide investigators with valuable leads into the operations and financing of criminal groups linked to kidnapping for ransom.

The arrest has also sparked conversations on social media, where users have reacted to allegations that proceeds of criminal activities may have been openly displayed online without attracting immediate scrutiny.
