

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone One Headquarters, Kano, Garba Ahmed, has conducted a comprehensive security assessment of the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State, as part of efforts to strengthen the safety of police training institutions across the country.
The assessment was carried out in compliance with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, on the need to review and reinforce security arrangements at all police training facilities nationwide.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Zone One Headquarters, Kano, DSP Abdullahi Hussaini.
According to the statement, the AIG inspected the academy’s existing security architecture and evaluated the effectiveness of measures already in place to protect the institution.
During the visit, Ahmed directed that critical security deployments around the academy be reinforced to improve operational readiness and ensure the continued safety of personnel, cadets and facilities.
He also charged police officers and other security personnel on duty to remain alert and uphold the highest standards of professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The statement said the AIG emphasised the need for proactive policing through constant vigilance, stressing that sustained alertness remained vital to preventing security breaches.

Ahmed reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to providing a secure environment conducive to learning, training and operational activities in all police training institutions across the country.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by the police leadership to strengthen security around strategic institutions and ensure uninterrupted training of officers amid prevailing security challenges.
