Uche Nwosu Bags US Leadership Award, Seals Nigeria-US Partnership

Former Chief of Staff to a former Imo State Governor and President of the Ugwumba Leadership Centre for Africa, Uche Nwosu, has received a leadership award in the United States as part of a new partnership between the City of East Orange, New Jersey, and the Ugwumba Centre in Imo State.

The partnership, coordinated by the Ugwumba Centre for Leadership, is aimed at strengthening leadership training, human capacity development and sustainable community growth between Nigeria and the United States.

At a ceremony hosted by the Mayor of East Orange, Ted Green, Nwosu was presented with the City of East Orange’s Award for Outstanding Leadership and Human Capacity Development. He was also decorated with the city’s official pin in recognition of his contributions to leadership development.

Speaking after receiving the honour, Nwosu described the award as a motivation to deepen his commitment to service and thanked the mayor and residents of East Orange for the recognition accorded to him and his delegation.

He said the partnership would create opportunities for knowledge sharing, leadership development and economic cooperation between both communities.

“This collaboration is about building lasting relationships that will empower people, strengthen institutions and create sustainable opportunities for future generations,” Nwosu said.

According to him, the initiative is expected to foster closer ties between Nigeria and the United States through programmes focused on leadership development, capacity building and community advancement.

Nwosu was accompanied to the event by Engr. Kings Umege, Hon. Chief Sir Engr. Ewhoma Tony Okpokparoro (Oilmoney), Prince Anozie Ugenyi and Engr. Kizito Umege.

The agreement is expected to strengthen cooperation between the City of East Orange and the Ugwumba Leadership Centre for Africa through joint initiatives designed to promote leadership excellence, skills development and sustainable community development.
