CIoD Nigeria to host executives at 2026 Abuja Walk for Life

The Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD) Nigeria, Abuja Zone, will hold its 2026 Walk for Life on Saturday, November 7, at Millennium Park, Abuja, with directors and senior executives expected to participate.

The annual event will focus on executive health, professional relationships and the role of personal wellbeing in effective leadership.

The walk, themed “Advancing Executive Wellness, Building Connections, and Inspiring Healthier Leadership,” will be led by the National President and Chairman of the Governing Council of CIoD Nigeria, Otunba Adetunji Oyebanji.

The Abuja Zonal Chairperson, Mrs Rose N. Eshiett,, will host the event.

The Institute said the initiative reflects the importance of physical and mental wellbeing to leadership, particularly as directors and senior executives work under demanding conditions.

Their responsibilities often involve complex decisions, sustained concentration and the management of organisational challenges. Regular physical activity, therefore, can help them maintain their health while managing the pressures of their positions.

The annual walk also seeks to encourage participants to make exercise part of their daily routines. Walking offers a simple form of physical activity while providing an opportunity for people to interact outside their usual professional engagements.

The event will also examine the influence of leadership on workplace health practices. The Institute believes that directors and executives can encourage healthier organisational cultures by giving attention to their own wellbeing and that of their employees.

Beyond the exercise, participants are expected to use the gathering to strengthen professional relationships and exchange ideas in an informal setting.

CIoD Nigeria has invited directors, senior executives, business professionals and members of the public to take part in the walk at Millennium Park.

The Institute has also called on media organisations to publicise the event and encourage public participation.
