APC Pegs FCT Area Council Chairmanship Forms at N20m

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that interested chairmanship aspirants for the upcoming Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council election will pay N20 to purchase the expression of interest and nomination.

According to the schedule of activities and timetable signed by the National Organizing Secretary of the party on Tuesday, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, the decision was made by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

The statement noted that those aspiring for councillorship positions will be required to pay N2.5 million for their nomination forms.

The breakdown reveals that chairmanship aspirants will pay N5 million for the expression of interest form and N15 million for the nomination form, totaling N20 million. In contrast, councillorship aspirants will pay N500,000 for the expression of interest form and N2 million for the nomination form.

The party further stated that the female Aspirants and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Aspirants are to purchase only the Expression of Interest Form while the Nomination Form is Free.

Also, Youth ages 25 to 40 are to purchase the Expression of Interest Form with a 50% discount

The sale of the nomination forms is set to take place from Thursday, May 22, to Wednesday, May 28, with a deadline for submission of completed forms on Thursday, May 29.

“Expression of Interest Form and Nomination Form will be available for purchase at the Directorate of Organization, 2nd Floor, APC National Headquarters, No. 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja,” Argungu said.
