Content Creators Back New Service Chiefs, Seek Stronger Security-Media Collaboration

The Bloggers and Vloggers Content Creators Association of Nigeria (BAVCCA) has thrown its weight behind the newly appointed service chiefs, urging them to deepen collaboration with the media in rebuilding public confidence and promoting national security.

In a statement issued on Monday, BAVCCA President, Ikechukwu Chukwunyere, said the association was ready to partner with the new military leadership on nationwide public enlightenment campaigns to promote unity, transparency, and responsible citizen engagement.

“The service chiefs must therefore not only fight threats, but win hearts and minds. The media; including digital creators and content professionals are key partners in this mission,” Chukwunyere said.

He said the new appointees must demonstrate impartiality in protecting all Nigerians, regardless of religious, ethnic, or regional background, while strengthening trust between citizens and security agencies.

“Through ethical storytelling and digital advocacy, we can help build a Nigeria where every citizen feels protected, where institutions are trusted, and where our common identity is stronger than what divides us,” he added.

BAVCCA disclosed that it plans to leverage its network of over 5,000 bloggers, vloggers, and online journalists to advance narratives of peace, resilience, and collective progress.

The association also outlined a series of initiatives to bridge the gap between the digital media community and security institutions, including; Joint digital-media campaigns with the new service chiefs to highlight security achievements and citizen responsibilities, Media workshops on responsible reporting of security and human rights issues; and Direct communication channels for verified information to combat misinformation.

“Effective security extends beyond military operations; it also depends on citizen awareness, media transparency, and collaborative public engagement,” the statement added.

Chukwunyere reaffirmed the group’s readiness to serve as an ally in promoting constructive dialogue between the military and the public.

“As the new service chiefs settle into their roles, BAVCCA stands ready as an ally in public education and digital-media partnership. With synergy between security leaders and digital creators, Nigeria can headline a new era of renewed hope one backed by clarity of purpose, transparency of action, and inclusion of all,” he said.
