Police Arrest Two Over Killing of 62-Year-Old Woman in Ibadan

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a 62-year-old woman in Ibadan.
The Command disclosed this on Friday in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade.
The deceased was reportedly killed under controversial circumstances on Wednesday at the Ori-Apata Oderemi area of Ido, in the Ido Local Government Area of Ibadan.
Providing an update on the incident, the police confirmed that two residents of the area — Muhammed Sanusi, 42, and Ogbu James Ajah, 40 — have been taken into custody in connection with the crime.
“The Oyo State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of a suspected murder incident which occurred at Ori-Apata Oderemi area of Ido, Ibadan,” the statement read.
According to the Command, the victim’s body was immediately evacuated to the morgue at Adeoyo General Hospital for autopsy and post-mortem examination to scientifically determine the actual cause of death.
The suspects are currently being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), where they are assisting investigators.
Police authorities added that efforts are ongoing to apprehend any other accomplices linked to the crime as investigations continue.
The Command assured residents of its commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining security across the state.
