Group Lauds FG’s New Revenue Dashboard as Transparency Boost
JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) has praised the Federal Government for introducing a monthly revenue dashboard, saying the initiative will enhance transparency, accountability, and fiscal discipline across all tiers of government.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, TMV described the dashboard as a timely measure that will help track and monitor income and expenditure following reforms in the oil and tax sectors.
The group highlighted that the initiative aligns with a presidential executive order aimed at releasing more oil revenues from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) and implementing the new tax law.
“We acknowledge that the federal government under the auspices of the ministry of finance has decided to utilize this template to monitor and track the enormous resources that would be accruing to the three tiers of governments following the presidential executive order freeing more oil revenues from the NNPC Ltd, as well as the huge revenues expected from the implementation of the new tax act,” the statement said.
TMV further noted that the improved inflows would allow governments to prioritise productive capital investments over recurrent spending, focusing on infrastructure, agriculture, energy, and other growth-enhancing sectors.
“We are also gratified that the three tiers of government would prioritise capital expenditures over recurrent expenditures, investment in infrastructure, agriculture, energy and other productive sectors thereby reducing consumption spikes in the economy,” the statement added.
The group also said that better monitoring of revenues would help reduce government debt, clear accumulated arrears, and provide citizens with the ability to hold leaders accountable.
TMV expressed confidence that the dashboard will strengthen public trust and serve as a practical tool for ensuring transparency and responsible management of Nigeria’s resources.
