Katsina Hisbah Officials Shave Youths’ Hair During Sallah Operation

Officials of the Katsina State Hisbah Commission in Sabuwa have shaved the hair of several young men as part of a special operation carried out during the just concluded Sallah celebration.

The action, which took place in different parts of Sabuwa town, was confirmed in a statement issued by the commission on Saturday.

According to the statement, the exercise formed part of an initiative tagged “Operation Happy Sallah,” aimed at maintaining order during the festive period.

The operation was led by the Hisbah commander in the area, Malam Idris Hayatu, who said the move was intended to promote discipline and ensure a peaceful environment throughout the celebrations.

The commission noted that its officers moved across the town to address what it described as inappropriate behaviour, including certain hairstyles, public conduct, and activities that could lead to disorder.

It also said efforts were made to curb noisy gatherings and other actions considered disruptive.

According to the statement, the initiative was designed to uphold community values and protect public decency during a period when large gatherings are common.

The commander urged young people in the area to maintain good behaviour and avoid actions that could create tension or disturb the peace.

He also called on residents to support the commission’s efforts in promoting order and harmony within the community.
