National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Henry Seriake Dickson, has called for intensified grassroots mobilisation in Kogi State as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s presence ahead of future elections.

Dickson made the call while receiving a delegation of stakeholders from Kogi Central at the party’s headquarters in Abuja, in what he described as part of ongoing consultations to deepen support for the party across the country.

The delegation was led by a governorship aspirant, Engr. Mukhtar Salawu Audu, and included a senatorial aspirant, Hon. Mukhtar Sani-Omolori, as well as the state’s pro-tem party chairman, Hon. Monday Onate.

According to Dickson, the visit provided an opportunity for the stakeholders to reaffirm their commitment to the party’s vision and ongoing mobilisation drive.

“They came to hold vital discussions with the national leadership of the party to assure it of support by the good people of Kogi Central and other districts of the state,” he said, adding that residents were increasingly aligning with what he described as the party’s “ideological movement.”

The former Bayelsa governor said the party was making steady progress in Kogi, citing increased membership registration, the opening of offices and growing commitment among party officials and supporters.

“Kogi is on course and doing very well… I commend the visiting aspirants and party officials for their efforts, and I once again enjoin them to step up mobilisation across the state,” he said.

The meeting also had in attendance a group of young party members and aspirants for House of Representatives seats in Okene/Ogori-Magongo and Adavi/Okehi federal constituencies, who came to show support for the leadership.

Dickson expressed optimism about the party’s prospects, saying it was building a broad-based movement focused on national renewal.

“Together, we will build a strong, inclusive and people-driven political movement that delivers real change for all Nigerians,” he added.

Speaking on behalf of the visiting stakeholders, House of Representatives aspirant, Hon. (Dr.) Hope Omeiza, thanked the party leader for receiving the delegation and pledged sustained efforts to strengthen the party’s base in the state.

He said the group was determined to build a strong political structure that would position the party for success in Kogi and beyond.

Also speaking, Engr. Mukhtar Mohammed, a governorship aspirant who led the delegation, assured the party leadership of growing acceptance of the NDC among residents of the state.

He said “the good people of Kogi State will continue to embrace the party,” adding that the stakeholders were committed to expanding its reach and influence.

The visit is part of ongoing efforts by the NDC leadership to consolidate its structures nationwide and mobilise support at the grassroots level.
