Industrialization takes center stage as female aspirant picks APC forms for Ondo guber race

A female governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Fumilayo Waheed Adekojo, has promised to prioritize the industrialization of Ondo State if elected.

Funmilayo, a practicing Mechanical Engineer disclosed this while reeling out her plans for the state in a brief with journalists after the purchase of nomination and expression of interest  forms at the party National Secretariat, on Wednesday.

The female Engineer turned Politician was the first to turn up for the call by the party to begin the sales of the forms on Wednesday as against the earlier date once announced.

Funmilayo told journalists that she’s a blessing and she has what it takes to solve the problems bedeviling the society.

She added that she’s out to prove to the world that women can do it better if given the opportunity.

“I’m not here to represent myself, but to represent the women in the world, especially Africa, to showcase what we can do – this is the era that women have to come on board to put a lot of things right.

“Women are the solution, the majority are the youths. Anywhere you have women and the youths together, that is the solution you’re looking for.

She also noted that the the Sunshine State is blessed with a lot of resources but are underutilized, promising to put them into maximum use in the general interest of the state.

“I’m looking forward to adding more value to my people in Ondo State. I’m going to introduce a lot of investors to make our state look like what we’ve been looking for.

“As a practising engineer for that matter, I’m going to make Ondo an industrial hub and develop a lot of resources that have been wasting away over the years.

“Also, in terms of agriculture, education, and the safety of our people, I want to let our people know that I’m the woman of the people. I have been the woman of the grassroot who knows their foundation. I know what they need. I know their pains”, she said.

Funmilayo boldly said she’s not afraid of men who are considered bigwigs in the race, saying; “All the men are amazing, but who gave birth to them, I’m their mother.

“Like I said before, I’m a woman of the grassroot, a woman of our people who has single handedly raised 15,000 women and youths with my hard earned money.

“It is not about who is endorsing who, it’s about what people want, they want somebody from the grassroot, and I’m that person,” Funmilayo affirmed.
